The festival of Akti or Akha Teej or Akshay Teej, popularly known as Akshaya Tritiya, is an annual spring time festival for the Hindus and Jains. People from India and Nepal observe it as an auspicious time signifying the "third day of unending prosperity". It is celebrated on the third Tithi (lunar day) of Bright Half (Shukla Paksha) of Vaisakha month.
